Workshop with Don White

MediaNet and ViFPA are pleased to announce that the legendary Don White is coming from Vancouver February 9th & 10th (last weekend of the Victoria Film Festival), to offer two workshops in developing documentary structure

The Saturday evening workshop “Developing Basic Documentary Structure” http://www.documentarystorystructure.com/Upcoming%20Seminars.html is open to all MediaNet members (admission $10). It is appropriate for all members interested in creating documentaries.

People who have participated in Don’s intensives say the process is truly helpful.

MEDIANET SUBMISSIONS Requests

Deadline for submissions: March 15, 2008

We are looking for film and video works surrounding ideas of place/ displacement, real and invented histories, abandonment and reunion, internal and external quests for a sense of place or belonging and the ghosts that haunt us.

Submission Requirements:
– Works should be no longer than 10 minutes in length
-Please attach an artist statement with a brief biography
-film and video stills appreciated
-works should be sent as DV tapes or DVDs

Do not send original copies. Include a SASE if you wish to have materials returned.
We encourage works in all genres and from diverse communities.

Fees will be paid for works accepted.
