Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, 2010, 84 min

“Here’s is an insightful, heartfelt look into the life of a comedian and actress who, at 75, continues to pave the way for young comedians. Rivers never holds back, and allows her insecurities and fears be shown to the world in an attempt to allow people to understand her a bit more. Whether you knew of Joan Rivers previously or not, you’ll walk away respecting her as the cutting-edge comedic innovator that she was and continues to be today.”

6:30 pm Monday 28 March 2011

A River Runs Through It, 1992, 123 min

Set in small town Montana, the story follows two sons of a Presbyterian minister—one studious and the other rebellious—as they grow up and come of age in the 20s. Fly fishing is their common bond and the river the steady through-line in the story. This Robert Redford directed film is renowned for it’s beautiful cinematography and it’s un-Hollywood style leisurely pacing. Re-discover this wonderful film.

Volunteer Appreciation day for Lindsay Beckett, Volunteer Resources Mental Health & Addiction Services.

Chomavision, a documentary about an amazing 86 year old artist who is bipolar. A graduate of EMP, his life has been a classic creative, chaotic story – from tutoring from several of the Group of Seven as a kid, running a couple highly productive businesses, alcohol problems, mood swings to rediscovering his creative muse as an outsider artist later in life.

Listen to Bruce being interviewed by Sheryl MacKay on CBC Radio British Columbia, North by Northwest, 10 min.

Movies are shown on a 12′ screen in the Eric Martin Pavilion in the 1900 block of Fort St. Pop & popcorn at ridiculously low prices
