Eco Doc is a workshop for filmmakers and environmentalists to meet and produce short documentary films about issues
relating to the environment, community, global warming and sustainable development.

Our first OPEN CINEMA of Season Nine takes place on
Wednesday, October 12, featuring a screening of Urban Roots.
This inspiring and timely documentary follows the urban farming phenomenon in post-industrial
Detroit. Against all odds, seeds of change are taking root in empty lots, old factory yards and
derelict housing estates, where people are reclaiming their spirits by growing food.
Featuring an after screening discussion with Kristina Bouris (City of Victoria
Community Planner and Food Systems specialist); Sol Kinnis (City Harvest);
Philippe Lucas (Victoria Downtown Public Market Society) and Gabe Epstein (Gorge Tillicum Urban Farmers).
